Miles spent the formative years of his legal career with large law firms in Calgary and Vancouver where he practiced corporate, commercial and securities law. Miles has a wide ranging client base which includes local, national and international corporate clients in diverse businesses including the natural resource, real estate, regulated professionals, food and beverage, technology, manufacturing and entertainment industries. In addition to his corporate, commercial and real estate practice, Miles is Quorum’s securities law resource, having strong experience in exempt and public offerings, financings, corporate governance, TSX requirements and compliance with applicable securities legislation.

Representative Experience

• Representing the then largest microbrewery in BC and acting for the shareholders on the sale of the company to a public company
• Acting on behalf of a syndicate of Australia investors on the purchase of the Town of Cassiar, BC and all accompanying chattels and interests in land from the government appointed Receiver
• Incorporating the first insurance corporation under the Financial Institutions Act (British Columbia) and acting as general counsel
• Structuring purchases, sales and financings of multi-building apartment complexes and commercial properties
• Advising on reverse take over of Stock Exchange listed companies
